Discounted Advance Tickets Now on Sale
The Western Idaho Fair returns to Expo Idaho August 18 through 27. The social event of the summer for 120 years, the Fair attracts nearly 250,000 attendees with concerts, ground acts, carnival rides, food concessions, and blue-ribbon competitions.
Reduced-price advance tickets—including family packs and carnival deals—are now on sale at any Albertsons location in the Treasure Valley or at IdahoFair.com. Regular pricing begins August 18. The Fair is open every day from noon to 11 pm, except for closing day, August 27, when the action ends at 9 pm.
Admission opens up access to the many wonders the Fair has to offer, including grandstand concerts with rock stars and country music legends at no extra charge. This year, Scotty McCreery, Huey Lewis and the News, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, and Trace Adkins take the stage on the DISH Grandstand.
“This year’s Fair has everything it takes to be epic, including a solar eclipse,” says Bob Batista, Western Idaho Fair Director. “Now celebrating 120 years as one of the biggest draws around, it’s always a good time around here.”
From thrill rides to edible delights, there’s even more in store for 2017. New amusement park rides include the Ex-scream Machine Giant Roller Coaster and Super Shot Drop Tower. A new contest for food vendors will highlight Fair tastemakers, including the Best on a Stick, Best Sugar Rush, Best Fair Square Meal, and Biggest Crowd Pleaser.
On August 21, a special event called the Total Eclipse of the Fair takes place during the solar eclipse from 10 am to noon in the Dish Grandstand. A $7 general admission ticket comes with one pair of eclipse viewing glasses and a raffle ticket for a chance to see the eclipse from the Giant Wheel. After the event, eclipse viewers gain entry to all the regular Fair action at no additional charge.
Packed with nonstop excitement and entertainment, the Fair is the don’t-miss event of the summer!
